Figures checked against each source on 29 October 2026. How we check

Kildare builds estates. Nearly three in four new homes finished in the county in 2026 so far were scheme houses, and over a quarter of its homes were built between 2001 and 2010. That means two kinds of floor: new ground floors over underfloor heating, and extensions on houses now 16 to 25 years old.

We pass requests from across County Kildare to one screeding contractor who covers your county. They ring you, ask about the floor and price it. Nothing is booked until you say yes.

Put in your floor and the day it's laid. You get the volume, the weight, when it should be dry enough for floor finishes, and when the heating can go on, from the makers' own figures.

Drying times are for good conditions, closed up and ventilated. The floor is tested before finishes go down, not guessed. None of the Irish screeding contractors' sites we checked publish a price per m², so the price comes from your floor.

What's being built

Kildare finished 1,669 new homes in the first nine months of 2026: 1,204 scheme houses, 337 apartments and 128 one-off houses. On a scheme, liquid screed suits the volume: Roadstone says up to 2,000 m² of FlowPlus a day is achievable by trained installers.

The housing stock

Census 2022 counted 22,763 Kildare homes built between 2001 and 2010, 28% of the county's households. Those houses are reaching the age for kitchen extensions and new floors. Where a new extension floor meets an existing one, the depth of the new screed has to land the finished floor level with the old.

Radon under the floor

69 of the 1,600 Kildare homes measured by the EPA were at or above the radon reference level, one of the lower shares in Leinster. Check the EPA's map for the site all the same.

Questions people ask

Do you cover all of Kildare?

Yes: Naas, Newbridge, Celbridge, Maynooth, Leixlip, Athy, Kildare town, Clane, Kilcock and everywhere in between.

How much does floor screeding cost in Kildare?

None of the Irish screeding contractors' websites we checked on 29 October 2026 publishes a price per m². The price comes from your floor: the area, the depth, the type of screed, access for the pump and what's under it. See the cost guide for Irish merchant prices and what a quote should list.

Which screed suits a new house in Kildare?

Over underfloor heating, a liquid screed needs 25 mm over the pipes (Roadstone, Gyvlon, Cemfloor); a floating sand and cement screed in a house is normally 65 mm (MPA). The contractor advises once they know the floor zone and your dates.

Who will ring me?

We pass your request to one screeding contractor who covers your county. Your number isn't sent to a list. They ring you, ask about the floor and your dates, and price it from the drawings or a look at the site. Nothing is booked until you say yes. Naming a manufacturer or merchant on this site doesn't mean they're involved in your job.
